Podcasts I Love

Owning your own business can be overwhelming in many different ways and with the popularity of social media (especially Instagram), it can give you feelings of jealousy, of not being good enough and of course, the dreaded "why not me" when you see other companies successes. That is why podcasts have become one of my business BFFs; I listen to them in the studio, while running errands, cleaning the house and on those rare days I make it to the gym. Here are a few that I listen to regularly:

From Maker to Manufacturing by Sarah Cooley; this is one of my favorite podcasts! I love how honest and real Sarah and her guests are about how hard it is to run a small business. She has interviewed the founders of some of my favorite businesses and I hope she returns to podcasting soon!

Proof to Product by Katie Hunt; although the podcasts interviews are with makers in the stationary world, I love it. I love hearing about how other people started their businesses and what their challenges have been. Proof to Product is a new podcast, but it is quickly becoming a favorite!

Dear Handmade Life by Delilah Snell and Nicole Stevenson is also a great listen. They interview a wide variety of creative business owners and often share their own experiences in business. They also have the honor of having recorded my favorite podcast ever! It is an with Lela Barker of Lucky Break Consulting and I swear I must listen to it at least once a month (sometimes more if I am in need of a bit of inspiration!).

And last but definitely not least is How I Built This by NPR; this podcast is a must-listen for any small business owner who wonders how big brands started out; spoiler alert, just like us! Shipping from their homes, juggling bills and worrying that maybe we should give up. My favorite episodes are the interviews with Kendra Scott of Kendra Scott Jewelry and Kate & Andy Spade of Kate Spade and Frances Valentine.

That's all for today; if you have a recommendation for a great podcast, let me know in the comments below.

Hope everyone has a great week!

xoxo,

Melissa
